Description
Shampoo with the Sebomin complex, green tea and biotin for roots that become oily quickly.
With an oily scalp, freshly washed hair may remain fresh for only half a day. You wash, dry and style it in the morning, yet by evening the parting looks shiny, the fringe separates into greasy strands and the hairstyle already appears a day old. When this happens every day, the issue lies not in the hair itself but in the scalp, which requires more than basic cleansing. Shampooderm removes sebum, perspiration and styling-product residue, while the Sebomin complex helps regulate sebum production so that the roots remain fresh for longer.
The gel formula lathers easily and rinses away thoroughly without leaving a film. The roots remain light and separated, while the hair retains its volume for longer. Suitable for normal and oily scalps, including hair with oily roots and normal or dry lengths.
The sebaceous glands around the hair follicles produce sebum that is essential for both the scalp and hair: it lubricates the surface and protects it from excessive dryness. It becomes a problem when more sebum is produced than the scalp needs. As it spreads along the hair shafts, it causes the strands to clump together, leaving the hairstyle flat and greasy. Sebum is also exposed to oxidation, while microorganisms break down some of its components into fatty acids. These processes—not simply dirt—may contribute to the odour and itching that develop by the end of the day. Green tea helps neutralise free radicals and slow sebum oxidation, helping to reduce scalp discomfort and the development of unpleasant odour.
The oily film on the scalp traps dust and styling-product residue, creating favourable conditions for the growth of bacteria and yeasts. As these microorganisms proliferate, the balance of the scalp microbiome may be disrupted, leading to irritation. Excessive oiliness and microbial imbalance can then reinforce one another, creating a vicious cycle.
Sebomin targets the microbial component of this cycle. It restricts the availability of iron required for bacterial growth. The complex combines lactoferrin, lactoperoxidase and glucose oxidase—components also involved in natural antimicrobial defence systems found in saliva and breast milk. As scalp irritation decreases, one of the factors that may contribute to increased sebum production is also reduced. The complex cannot change the scalp’s inherent tendency towards oiliness, which is largely influenced by genetics, hormones and sebaceous-gland activity. However, by addressing the microbial component of the cycle, it helps the roots remain clean and fresh for longer.
Biotin is involved in the metabolism of fatty acids and amino acids required for normal skin renewal and keratin production. It helps support a scalp that requires frequent or daily cleansing, contributing to the maintenance of its normal condition.

Garnet cosmetologist tip
There is a common myth that the more frequently you wash your hair, the faster it becomes greasy. However, sebaceous glands do not respond to a washing schedule. If the roots have clumped together and lost volume by the end of the day, postponing shampooing for another day will not make the glands less active. Washing less frequently will simply leave more sebum, perspiration, sebum breakdown products and styling residue on the scalp. Wash your hair as often as your scalp requires.
Frequent washing should not be confused with aggressive cleansing. Scrubbing the scalp until it feels “squeaky clean” will not calm the sebaceous glands. Instead, it may add dryness, tightness, itching and irritation to already oily roots.
Apply the shampoo directly to the scalp. The lengths will be sufficiently cleansed by the lather flowing over them during rinsing. If you have used dry shampoo, applied a large amount of styling product or skipped a wash, cleanse the roots twice using a small amount of shampoo each time. The first application breaks down the oily film and accumulated product residue; the second cleanses the scalp thoroughly. Do not scratch the scalp with your nails or massage it for too long.
If the ends are dry, apply the Nourishing Hair Mask after shampooing. Distribute it from the mid-lengths to the ends, avoiding the roots. At the roots, even its beneficial conditioning properties may weigh the hair down, meaning that even a suitable shampoo will be unable to preserve volume.
