Pedicalx restorative cream for dry feet

A softening foot cream with urea, sodium hyaluronate and piroctone olamine.

Many people are familiar with the effort required to keep the feet smooth. At first, the heels may begin to catch on bed linen; later, the skin becomes increasingly thick and rough, sometimes developing painful fissures. Pumice stones, metal rasps and pedicure files can provide an immediate smoothing effect, but excessive abrasion may stimulate further thickening of the stratum corneum and aggravate dryness. Pedicalx takes a different approach: instead of mechanically removing the hardened skin, it hydrates and gradually softens it.

The cream has a rich texture and provides a cooling sensation, offering additional comfort for tired feet at the end of the day. Suitable for dry, thickened skin, calluses, cracked heels and feet prone to perspiration.

The skin on the soles differs from the skin on most other areas of the body. Its stratum corneum is considerably thicker, there are no sebaceous glands on the soles, and the skin is continuously exposed to pressure and friction during walking. These mechanical forces stimulate the skin to protect itself by increasing keratin production.

When adequately hydrated, the thickened skin remains flexible and can withstand movement more effectively. When its water content decreases, it becomes dry, rigid and more susceptible to calluses, corns and fissures.

At a concentration of 3%, urea primarily acts as a humectant, helping the stratum corneum retain water and become softer and more flexible. Sodium hyaluronate and glycerin provide additional hydration, while sesame oil and emollients replenish surface lipids and soften rough areas. The heels may feel smoother after the first application, although dense, thickened areas require consistent care over time.

Closed footwear creates a warm, humid environment that can encourage the growth of microorganisms and contribute to unpleasant odour and interdigital irritation. Piroctone olamine provides antimicrobial and antifungal activity, helping control the microorganisms present on the skin. Sweet orange and lemongrass essential oils provide a deodorising effect and a light citrus-herbal fragrance. Zinc oxide helps protect the skin and reduce excess moisture in areas prone to friction.
