Body moisturiser is often applied only to visibly dry areas, such as the elbows or lower legs. However, in very dry and atopy-prone skin, dryness is rarely limited to a few rough patches. The skin may feel tight after showering, while the lower legs and flexural areas can become dry and itchy. Cold weather and frequent washing may further aggravate these symptoms.

Sebucel helps replenish essential lipids, retain moisture and support the restoration of the skin barrier. With regular use, the skin feels calmer and softer, with less visible dryness and flaking.

The lotion has a rich yet easily spreadable texture. It forms a thin protective layer on the skin that helps reduce transepidermal water loss. Suitable for dry, very dry and sensitive skin, including skin prone to atopy. It can also be used on hands affected by frequent washing, prolonged contact with water or cold weather. Suitable for adults and children.

Lipids fill the spaces between the cells of the stratum corneum and help maintain its structural integrity. When these lipids are depleted, the skin barrier becomes less effective: the skin loses water more readily and becomes increasingly susceptible to external irritants. As a result, the surface may feel rough, become flaky and develop itching. Scratching can further damage the barrier and perpetuate the cycle of irritation.

Evening primrose oil is naturally rich in linoleic and gamma-linolenic acids, which support the skin’s lipid barrier. The ceramide complex helps replenish intercellular lipids and reinforce the skin’s protective barrier. This improves moisture retention and leaves the skin softer, smoother and less prone to flaking.

The nourishing emollient base forms a protective surface layer that slows water evaporation and helps shield the skin from drying environmental factors such as cold air and wind.

Urea and sodium lactate are components of the skin’s natural moisturising factor, which enables the stratum corneum to bind and retain water. Together with glycerin and a multi-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid complex, they improve hydration and help reduce sensations of dryness and tightness. Urea also softens rough, thickened areas such as the elbows and knees.

Magnesium helps support skin comfort. Bakuchiol, vitamin C and rosemary extract provide antioxidant protection for the skin’s lipids. By helping protect these lipids from oxidative damage, the formula supports the barrier while the skin recovers.
