Description
Soothing balm with antibacterial litsea cubeba essential oil and nourishing babassu oil.
Shaving and hair removal cause repeated microtrauma to the skin. A razor removes part of the upper protective layer together with the hair, while waxing and epilation can irritate the skin around the follicles. The first few hours after the procedure often determine what follows: the skin may recover calmly or respond with burning, red bumps and inflammation that can persist for several days.
The balm has a light emulsion texture that absorbs quickly without leaving a sticky residue, so there is no uncomfortable feeling when you need to get dressed straight away. Suitable for the face and body, for all skin types, and for use after shaving, waxing, sugaring or epilation.
Litsea cubeba essential oil contains citral, a naturally occurring compound with pronounced antibacterial properties. After shaving or hair removal, the follicles are more vulnerable and the protective barrier is temporarily disrupted. Microorganisms naturally present on the skin may then contribute to red bumps and minor inflammation around areas of microdamage. Litsea cubeba helps limit bacterial growth on freshly shaved skin, reducing the likelihood of irritation and inflammation. It also gives the balm its fresh citrus fragrance.
Babassu oil provides the balm’s softening action. Light and quickly absorbed, it replenishes some of the lipids removed during shaving and forms a thin protective layer over the compromised surface. Burning and tightness subside, the skin remains soft and smooth, and the risk of irritation is reduced.

Directions for use
After shaving or hair removal, remove any remaining shaving or depilatory product and gently pat the skin dry. Apply a thin layer of balm to the face, neck or body.
Garnet cosmetologist tip
Ingrown hairs are a common and unpleasant consequence of shaving and hair removal. A well-balanced combination of exfoliation and moisturising can help prevent them. Exfoliation removes dead skin cells that may obstruct the hair as it grows towards the surface, while moisturising keeps the skin soft and reduces the risk of ingrowth.
After hair removal, wait until all redness has completely subsided before exfoliating. For the face, use Renewing Gentle Gel Peel once a week. If the skin does not tolerate mechanical exfoliation well, apply AHA Enzyme Peel G5+ for five minutes instead. For the body, use CPK Body Scrub once a week.
After exfoliation or contact with water, apply skincare suited to the area and the skin’s condition. For normal, dry and combination facial skin, use the Nourishing Cream for Men. Choose Sebucel for oily skin and Neoderm for irritated skin with a compromised protective barrier. For the body, use the 100% Hyaluronic Acid Moisturising Balm.
Before and after shaving, clean the razor blade or shaver head with a suitable antiseptic. Skin cells, sebum and hair particles left on its surface create favourable conditions for microorganisms. During the next shave, they may enter areas of microdamage and contribute to inflammation. Replace the blade as soon as it begins to pull at the hair, as a blunt blade causes greater trauma to the skin.
