Description
A brightening day cream with azelaic acid, lactic acid and light sun protection.
An active day cream for skin prone to pigmentation, breakouts, post-acne marks and redness, including sensitive, reactive and rosacea-prone skin. It has a rich, softening texture, closer to a classic dense emulsion than a lightweight fluid. In this formula, that richness is part of the design: the cushioning base helps make a high concentration of azelaic acid more comfortable on the skin and counterbalances the dryness that can come with acid-based care. The cream provides light SPF 10 protection.
Some skin keeps repeating the same pattern: a pore clogs, it becomes a breakout, the breakout leaves a mark, and before that mark has faded, the next one is already forming. Most blemish care steps in once inflammation is already visible. White Action is built around azelaic acid, an active that does more than calm the visible spot: it works across the full pattern, from pore blockage to inflammation to the mark left behind.
Azelaic acid starts at pore level. It helps normalise excess keratinisation around the follicle, so dead cells are less likely to build up exactly where a comedone would normally form. It is gentler than retinoids or strong exfoliating acids, but this early step matters: fewer blocked pores means fewer new breakouts waiting to surface.
When inflammation begins, azelaic acid helps lower the skin’s inflammatory reactivity and keeps acne-related bacteria in check. A clogged pore is less likely to become a painful inflamed blemish, redness looks less intense, and the skin gradually appears clearer and more even. The same anti-inflammatory action is useful for sensitive, reactive skin that responds to triggers with heat and flushing, including rosacea-prone skin.
Then comes the mark. After a breakout has calmed, the skin can produce extra melanin in the same spot. This is how brown or grey-toned post-acne marks appear, often lasting longer than the redness itself. Azelaic acid inhibits tyrosinase, the enzyme involved in melanin synthesis. Because it targets overactive pigment production, it helps reduce the contrast of dark marks without bleaching the surrounding skin. Marks look less pronounced, and the complexion gradually looks less patchy.
Lactic acid plays the supporting role. It gently loosens surface build-up that makes the skin look dull and can make pigmentation appear darker than it really is. The surface looks smoother, the tone looks fresher, and the brightening effect is no longer being muted by excess dead-cell build-up.
Active ingredients
- azelaic acid 20%
- lactic acid 1%
Directions for use
In the morning, apply a thin layer only to areas affected by rosacea, pigmentation or inflammation, rather than over the entire face. Make sure your skin is clean and dry. For the first two weeks, use 2-3 times a week, then build up to daily use as tolerated. Avoid the eye area and any damaged skin.
Garnet cosmetologist tip
Azelaic acid works best with consistency, not with a heavier layer. Keep the application thin and use it only where needed: on breakouts, post-acne marks, and areas of pigmentation and rosacea, rather than over the entire face. Massage in gently. This is an active treatment, so finish your routine with a nourishing moisturiser suited to your skin type. Mild tingling in the first few days can be normal; persistent burning, peeling or tightness means you should reduce the frequency. If your skin is reactive, avoid using this cream on the same day as retinoids or other exfoliating acids.
You can make the routine more intensive or gentler as needed:
For more pronounced pigmentation, once your skin tolerates White Action well, pair it with the BioMineral Brightening Moisturising Mask. Apply White Action directly to dark marks, then layer the mask over it. The mask’s hydrating base helps buffer the acids, while the combination creates a more intensive brightening routine and can help visible results show sooner.
For regular use alongside White Action, we recommend Neoderm. For dry skin, particularly when lipid deficiency is pronounced, choose the richer Sebucel instead. Both support the skin’s protective barrier and reduce irritation, dryness and feelings of tightness, keeping the skin more comfortable throughout an active skincare routine.
Daily sun protection is essential with brightening care. SPF 10 gives only light protection for cloudy days, low UV exposure or mostly indoor time. For active sun exposure, long walks or pigmentation-prone skin, apply a separate SPF 30-50 on top every 2 hours.
