With atopic skin, using a conventional shower gel often leads to the same familiar pattern. Immediately after washing, the skin feels so tight that you want to apply moisturiser as quickly as possible. By evening, itching is likely to develop. Itching then leads to scratching. In adults, scratch marks most commonly appear on the hands and in the folds of the joints, while children may scratch their skin unconsciously during sleep. AtoSkina is formulated to prevent cleansing from triggering this cycle.

Its creamy texture produces a gentle lather. Although the foam is minimal, this does not compromise cleansing performance: the emulsion cleanses thoroughly without leaving the skin feeling squeaky, tight or coated. Its mild cleansing base is sulphate-free. The emulsion does not sting if it comes into contact with the eyes, making it suitable for babies and children. One bottle can therefore replace shower gel, shampoo, facial cleanser and hand wash for the whole family. Suitable for normal, sensitive, dry, dehydrated and flaky skin, as well as skin prone to atopy or eczema and skin that reacts easily to external irritants.

Itching associated with atopic skin often develops into a vicious cycle: scratching damages the skin, which intensifies the itching and leads to further scratching. Polidocanol helps interrupt this itch–scratch cycle, which is why it is included in European guidelines for chronic pruritus and recommendations for the management of atopic dermatitis. It reduces the sensitivity of cutaneous nerve endings, directly alleviating the sensation of itching without relying on cooling or counter-irritant effects.

Colloidal oatmeal is whole oat grain milled into an exceptionally fine powder. Its naturally occurring components help soothe irritation, while the powder forms a delicate layer on the skin during cleansing and is not completely rinsed away, providing additional protection after washing. Bisabolol complements its action by soothing the skin and reducing redness. This combination is largely responsible for the absence of tightness after showering.

In atopic skin, the skin barrier is structurally impaired and loses moisture more rapidly than healthy skin. Evening primrose oil helps reinforce the protective barrier by supporting its lipid component. The formula also contains alpha-glucan oligosaccharide, a prebiotic that supports the skin’s beneficial microbiota. This is particularly important in atopic skin, where the microbiome is often imbalanced and flare-ups and itching are associated with the overgrowth of Staphylococcus aureus.
