Fine lines can sometimes appear surprisingly quickly. The skin may look smooth before a journey but develop a fine network of lines across the cheeks after a flight. This is often a visible sign of dehydration. In dry air, the skin loses water more rapidly, becomes less supple and makes superficial lines appear more pronounced.

Intensive Hydrating Serum softens the skin, relieves sensations of tightness and helps smooth fine dehydration lines. It is suitable for normal, dry and combination skin, particularly when dehydrated. The serum can be added to a regular skincare routine during travel, the heating season or periods spent in air-conditioned environments. If the skin is persistently prone to dehydration, it may be used continuously.

Glycerin and a moisturising complex containing urea, sodium lactate and amino acids help bind water within the stratum corneum, supporting its softness and flexibility. Urea, lactate and amino acids are also naturally present in the skin as components of its natural moisturising factor (NMF). Replenishing these substances helps reduce tightness and prevents the skin from becoming dehydrated as quickly.

Ceramides help retain this moisture by supporting the lipid matrix between the cells of the stratum corneum. This lipid structure limits transepidermal water loss and forms an essential part of the skin barrier. When ceramide levels are depleted, the skin loses water more readily. The serum helps replenish barrier lipids so that hydration can be maintained for longer.

Snow algae are adapted to survive in cold environments under intense sunlight. Their extract contains antioxidant compounds that help protect the skin from oxidative stress caused by free radicals—one of the factors associated with premature skin ageing. The extract also supports the skin’s recovery processes and helps maintain a smoother, firmer and more supple appearance.
